What is the Michinoku Coastal Trail?
The Michinoku Coastal Trail is a long-distance hiking trail that stretches over 1,000 km along the Pacific coast from Hachinohe City in Aomori Prefecture to Soma City in Fukushima Prefecture. The entire trail was officially opened in June 2019.
As a long trail, the scenery varies significantly by region, allowing visitors to enjoy
breathtaking landscapes unique to each area. Recommended spots along the trail in the Kamaishi area include Senjojiki, Sangan Island, Nebama Beach, Sanriku Coastal Road, and Toyasaka Pass.
